NEW YORK, NEW YORK – August 31st, 2021 – NYDIG, a leading bitcoin technology and financial services company, announced today the promotion of Patrick Sells to Chief Innovation Officer, effective immediately. The announcement reflects a natural expansion of the critical role played by both Sells and NYDIG for institutions nationwide as banks and traditional financial firms seek to keep up with growing demand for bitcoin offerings amidst a rapidly evolving digital and regulatory landscape. Sells previously held the role of Head of Bank Solutions at the firm.
As Chief Innovation Officer, Sells will be responsible for elevating NYDIG’s bitcoin offerings and executing the firm’s mission to expand bitcoin access for all. “Patrick’s creativity and leadership for institutions seeking to integrate a broad range of bitcoin products into their offerings has been exceptional,” said Robert Gutmann, CEO of NYDIG. “We all share in Patrick’s belief that bitcoin and banking have the power to enable inclusivity and drive financial security for millions. There is no one better to drive the creation of exciting new bitcoin products for a broad range of industries as the Bitcoin network continues to expand.”
Sells has helped accelerate the firm’s status as the partner of choice to confidently navigate the technology, governmental, audit and regulatory topics necessary to offer bitcoin products and services in highly regulated industries. Over the past year, Sells was responsible for the bitcoin + banking partnerships that NYDIG has struck with Alkami, Fiserv, FIS, Q2, NCR and many more in his role as Head of Banking Solutions.“
